Carbs have been blamed for everything from weight gain to brain fog. And when your body starts to change - it’s tempting to think: “Maybe carbs really are the problem.”

The “Carbs Make You Fat” Myth
Carbs are not the enemy.
They’re fuel, especially for women in perimenopause and beyond.
But here’s where things get messy:
You’ve been told to:
Cut carbs to lose fat
Avoid bread, pasta, and potatoes
Eat “clean” and go low-carb or keto
And sure - cutting carbs might lead to quick weight loss.
But long-term? It often leads to:
Cravings
Binge-restrict cycles
Low energy
Mood swings
Sleep issues
Slower metabolism
Because guess what?
Your body actually needs healthy carbs - especially now.

As estrogen and progesterone decline, your body:
Gets more sensitive to stress
Doesn’t respond to insulin like it used to
This means:
✔️ You still need carbs, but when you eat them and what kind you choose matters immensely
✔️ Eating too few carbs can actually raise your cortisol levels
✔️ Combining strength training with smart carb choices can do wonders for your metabolism

Carbs are a friend.
They’ve just been misunderstood.
Here’s what I teach the women inside my free community.
🍠 Pick better sources:
Think root veggies, fruit, legumes
Less from packets, more from plants
🥩 Pair with protein:
Helps keep your blood sugar steady and keeps you fuller longer
🕒 Time it right:
Around workouts or earlier in the day = more energy, better recovery
